This summer I’m running the Raid Campaign from a couple of issues of White Dwarf that came out a couple of years ago. I don’t know which issues; I just kept the pages relating to the campaign. The guys at Area 51 will have a couple of copies of the rules available if you choose to play up there.
To celebrate the end of seventh edition and the beginning of eighth, I am allowing any published army list. White Dwarf lists, back of the book lists, old fifth, fourth, or third edition lists, Storm of Chaos, special characters, dogs of war, it’s all good. This is just for fun.
The forces of chaos are invading the small colonies and principalities the forces of order have founded in the Boarder Principalities. Armies like beastmen, daemons, dark elfs, ogres, orcs, skaven, vampires, and warriors of chaos will be invading. Armies like Bretonnia, Empire, dwarfs, high and wood elfs, lizardmen, and tomb kings will be defending.
The campaign is very open. Show up for just one game, cool, not a problem. Show up for all the games, that’s cool too. Set up your own game at your place with just one other player, super cool; just post the result on here so I can keep track of the points. Want to switch armies? No problem. Switch every time you play if you want.
For the month of May, we will play Stage One- Landing the Troops.
June will be Stage Two-Gaining the Upper Hand
July will be Stage Three-Let the Raids Begin!
One fine day in August (to be scheduled later) will be Stage Four-Back to the Ships! which is the final game in the campaign.
To get things started, Area 51 is hosting a day of Landing the Troops this Sunday, May 16, 2010. The store is open from noon to six and I’ll be there all day. Jump into a big multi-player game or just try out the Coastal Raid scenario with another player. Each win for an invader army gains one Raid point for the invader team. Defenders don’t earn Raid points; they just deprive the invaders from getting them.
Questions?
