This is the schedule for the event.
Friday-April 5th Late afternoon and evening: set up and open play at Area 51 and registration.
Saturday-April 6th
8:00 am - to 8:45 am Registration
8:45 am to 9:00 am Introductions and Set Up
9:00 am to 12:00noon Round 1 Play
12:00 noon to 1:00pm Lunch (leave armies out with names for players' choice voting for armies)
1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Round 2 Play (stricter time limits will be enforced)
4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Round 3 Play (time to complete round allowed)
8:00 pm to 10:00 pm additional paint judging, if needed.
Sunday, April 7th
8:30am to 9:00am Set Up
9:00am to 12:00noon Round 4 ( may play a bit into lunch hour if needed)
12:00noon to 1:00pm Lunch
1:00pm to 4:00 pm Round 5 (time limits strictly enforced)
Results once tabulated.
We will have random drawings and door prizes awarded throughout the tournament. We will attempt to keep the results announcement at the end short and to the point.
Paint judging will be done after or before rounds (not during play) as much as possible but may require some armies be left on display overnight Saturday in order to allow for inspection (may be in a separate room).
Other notes: We are finding that the 2,800 point games are playing only slightly lot longer than 2,500 point games but test games suggest that 2,800 points with sideboard option does allow for more units and tactics and better matchups between armies. Therefore, we want to ensure quality play and avoid unresolved battles as much as possible by allowing for 3 hour instead of 2.5 hours per round. This may mean some additional time between battles for those that resolve their battles early. We encourage watching and socializing given the significant space available and venue taking note of the conduct policy, respecting those still playing. Also, a number of eating establishments are very close by to allow for ease in completing rounds and having something to eat for those playing into the lunch hours.
