Welcome to the Texas Toy Soldier WHFB League! The purpose of this league is to have fun meeting
new players while building up your army. At the end, we’ll host a tournament and give out some nice prizes.
This league will begin on Thursday August 29th and will end on Thursday Nov. 21st, with an "End-of-League
Tournament" on Saturday Nov. 23rd. This will be an escalation league (see info below).
Our normal League night will be on Thursdays, but games can be played at any time TTS is open.
The basic rules for the league are:
1 – Have Fun. We’re more interested in fun than anything else. Sure, play to win, but be a sportsman about it.
2 – Build an army. The format of the league is setup to allow players to start with smaller armies and build them
up by the end of the league.
3 – Meet New Players. As you can see from the League scoring system, bonus points will be scored for playing
against an opponent for the first time.
4– Scoring Points. Players will score points for playing, winning, and playing an opponent for the first time.
These points will be used to keep track of each player's overall position in the league, but do not be too
concerned about how many points you have scored, the main purpose of the league is to get gamers together
to play.
How to Join: Sign up at Texas Toy Soldier. No entry fee, this league is free.
You will need to give us your name and email address.
Prizes: Each player who participates in the League Finals will win a prize.
Army Sizes
As you can see from the info below, each level in the escalation league has a range of point sizes.
Players may field armies at the point levels listed, in 250 point increments. For instance, Level 1
will be played with armies of 750, 1000 or 1250 points. This point range will allow new players
more flexibility in building an army. Most experienced players will be able (and hopefully willing)
to field an army size to match their opponent. Note that armies must be used in increments of
250 points, you are welcome to bring an army with a size of, for instance, 850 points,
but this will count as a 1000 point army.
League dates: Important dates are –
LEVEL 1 - Initial Army size - 750-1250 points: 08/29/2013

Army Selection
You may play as many different armies during the span of league play as you like.
Note: Regardless of how many armies you register, you will accumulate points as a player;
you will not accumulate points separately for each army. Every game you play will count
towards your point total no matter what army you are playing.
All current army books may be used. The Legion of Azgorh army list may also be used.
If a new army book is released during the league, players may begin using the new book once
released or may continue to use the prior book through the course of the league.

LEAGUE FAQ
There is no set schedule of games? I can play as many games as I like? You may play as many or as few
games as you like, obviously the more games you play the more points you will accumulate.
Isn’t this unfair to players who don’t have time to play as many games? As long as a player plays a decent
number of games, he or she will have a good chance of getting into the finals. Even if the top player has ten
times as many points as the 12th player, they both qualify for the finals and have an equal chance of winning the
league.
Can’t a Player just play his or her buddy over and over to rack up points? Sure, but someone who makes
an effort to play many different players in the league will score a lot of bonus points. If “Joe” plays his buddy
ten times, he will score a lot fewer points than “Frank”, who plays ten different opponents.
Do I have to play on Thursday Night? No. Thursday night will be a dedicated League night, but you can play at
any other time that Texas Toy Soldier is open. All games must be played at Texas Toy Soldier.
Why are more points scored for the games with larger armies? Two reasons: First, it encourages players to
continue to play games as the league progresses, secondly, it allows players to join the league days or weeks
after the league has started and still have a chance to accumulate a decent amount of points.
Thanks!
