TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE/INFORMATION
40K GT 1500 Point Composition Limited Tournament
The main 40K tournament this year will have composition limits. If you have been playing 40K in 6th Edition, you probably have come across and/or created some lists with 6th and generate nearly automatic wins against armies that do not have the exact right elements to beat them (or enormous luck – maybe both). Those lists are not acceptable for this event. The TO will be the sole judge of lists and will return unacceptable lists with suggestions. The basic guideline you should follow is “If I walked up to the table at my local store, would I be happy to play against this list or would I look for another opponent?” If you wouldn’t want to play against the list, don’t try to bring it.
Tournament List submission: jon.w.net@gmail.com
List Submission Deadline: June 10th 2014
Formal Composition Rules:
1) Allies must come from different codices. Iyanden and Farsight are not codices, and count as their parent codices for this purpose. The exception to this rule is allied Space Marines. You may have an alliance of two different Space Marine chapters; HOWEVER the limit on artifacts is a total of one of each artifact across both lists (e.g. no double Shield Eternal)
2) Paper codices and published FAQs are the accepted standard. Where the digital and published paper versions differ, we will go with the paper. That said, expect that judges will have the digital version in their hand – wheeling the whole 40K library around the floor is crazypants.
3) Stronghold Assault and Dataslates are not included at all. Yes, there are good and balanced elements in them. We will not cherry pick these sources for acceptable material for tournament games.
Disclaimer: Yes, there is a certain amount of subjectivity that goes into any composition limited tournament. No doubt someone will think their list should have been accepted and someone will get a list accepted that others will think should not have been allowed. Experience has shown that 90% of people will submit reasonable lists and be happier not having to play games with the other 10%, and the other 10% is really only looking to play against others in the 10%.

Speaking of the other 10%; this tournament is for you – hardcore, mean lists, double force organization and created with forcing flaws in the game in mind. Expect to face lists that you have no chance against and lists that have no chance against you. Lists are not submitted for this tournament prior to the event.
